Doctors Without Borders Fundraiser
January 2022
The Medical Club donated over $350 dollars to Doctors Without Borders , an international and non-governmental humanitarian organization that provides healthcare to conflict zones. The organization was chosen by club members, who research and organized multiple medical-based organizations. To fundraise money for this initiative, Medical Club hosted a bake sale at Concord Academy, selling a variety of baked novelties made by club members.
First Aid/CPR Certification
February 2022
Over the course of two weeks, Medical Club certified almost 50 students and faculty members. We used the Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course. The first portion of the course was on the Red Cross website. There, students and faculty learned the basic procedures for accident evaluation and response, including how to perform CPR, use an AED. In addition, they learned how to provide consented care for different situations, such as strokes, seizures, choking, burns, and severe external bleeding. In the in-person portion of the course, students and faculty applied the skills they learned online. The in-person portion was taught by Steve Cornell, the Chief Executive Officer at SNOWVOTE CPR.
